ABOUT / JASON HU

I like the point where
an idea becomes hardware.

I’m an Engineering Physics student at UC Berkeley, focused on mechanical design and product development. I take open-ended hardware problems through requirements, CAD, analysis, prototyping, and testing.

My experience spans driver safety systems with Formula Electric at Berkeley, ergonomic consumer mechanisms with Engineering Solutions at Berkeley, and a custom keyboard business that has served more than 100 customers.

Before Berkeley, I led mechanical development for a 15-member FTC robotics team, co-led UAV integration, and developed a calibrated 3D laser-sensing pipeline at Purdue XYZT Labs. Across those settings, I’ve learned to connect part-level decisions to the way a complete system behaves.

I care about the details that survive the transition from CAD to reality: fit, load paths, manufacturing constraints, and repeatable performance.
